The US Government Accountability Office released a report entitled “Artificial Intelligence: Emerging Opportunities, Challenges, and Implications for Policy and Research” yesterday. You should be able to guess what it is about. If not, it comes with a handy graphic that may help you reach a conclusion:
The report comes from a forum of experts held about a year ago. Adequacy of current laws and regulations is one of four major challenges they (correctly!) identify. Regulatory sandboxes (ie areas where regulators can test regulatory ideas in some kind of safe haven) is one proposal noted.
It’s not a long read and worth the time as it encapsulates general thoughts on many areas of concern.
